GTA 6 pre-order: how to play it for less with game sharing

GTA 6 pre-order: play from day one and spend less

GTA 6 is the most awaited game in years and, like every big release, it is expensive at full price. In this guide we explain in plain words how game sharing works at DigitalGameSharing: the same original game, bought from the official stores, split between several players. Everyone plays on their own console and pays only their share.

GTA 6: release date and consoles

Rockstar Games has set the release of Grand Theft Auto VI for 19 November 2026. The game comes out only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S: there is no version for PS4 or Xbox One. Vice City is back, in the state of Leonida, with two main characters, Lucia and Jason.

What game sharing is, in plain words

A digital game is not tied to a disc but to an account. Consoles let you use an account’s games on more than one console, with precise rules. We buy GTA 6 on our own accounts from the official Sony and Microsoft stores and split it between several players, each with their own slot. The cost of the game is split: that is why you pay much less.

You don’t need to find a friend to share the cost with, and you don’t lend anyone your details or your console. Pick the version, pay, and you get access with a step-by-step guide.

GTA 6 on PS5: Primary or Secondary

On PlayStation there are two versions. They are two ways to play the same full game:

• Primary PS5: you play from your usual user, with your trophies and your saves. It also works without internet.
• Secondary: usually the lowest price. You play on your PS5 by signing in with the game’s user that we give you. Internet must always be on.

Example: Giulia takes the Primary PS5 and plays on her PS5 with her own user. Luca takes the Secondary and plays on his PS5 with the game’s user. They play at the same time, each on their own console: nobody gets disconnected and nobody has to wait their turn. The system is built for exactly this.

GTA 6 on Xbox Series X|S

• Shared: the best value. You sign in to our account with a guided procedure, download the game and then play from your own profile, with your saves and online multiplayer.
• Private: an Xbox account all yours with GTA 6 on it. You can change the email and password, and no other customer uses it.
• Digital key: a code to redeem on your Microsoft account, available from launch day.

Why is it so cheap? Is it all above board?

Yes. The accounts are ours and the games are original, bought from the official stores. The price is low because the cost of the game is split between several players. We have been working since 2017, have handled over 140,000 orders and every purchase comes with a 24-month guarantee: if the game stops working for a reason that does not depend on you, we replace it or refund you. And even after 24 months, where possible, we replace the game and give you support: since 2017 we have always found a solution for everyone. Read why we cost so little.

Frequently asked questions about GTA 6 and game sharing

If someone else plays GTA 6 while I’m playing, do I get disconnected?
No. Each version has its own slot: whoever has the Primary PS5 and whoever has the Secondary play at the same time, each on their own console, with no disconnections.

Can I play GTA 6 on PS4?
No, GTA 6 comes out only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is why on PlayStation you only find the Primary PS5 and the Secondary.

Primary or Secondary?
If you want to play from your own user, with your trophies and even without internet, choose the Primary PS5. If you want to spend as little as possible and your internet is always on, the Secondary is perfect.

Can I play online?
Yes. For online multiplayer, as with any game, you need your console’s subscription: PS Plus on PS5, Game Pass Essential or higher on Xbox.

When do I get access if the game isn’t out yet?
Within 12 hours of purchase, usually in 30 minutes. So you’re ready: on launch day you download the game and start playing.
